1. Be Active – Exercise the stress away
Exercising can have such a positive effect on your mental health. Although the workout may feel tough, the body creates endorphins that trigger a positive feeling on the body and the mind which in turn reduces stress and anxiety. Exercise can range from going for a walk around the block to a full-on fitness class. The most important thing is to keep moving! If you have trouble finding anything, YouTube is a great place to start.
When you feel things are getting a little too much, it may be helpful to take a step back and do something that might help reduce the stress. Take some time to focus on yourself. Do something you enjoy, read a book, listen to a podcast, have a bath or maybe talking through your feelings with a friend or someone close to you.
3. Try some natural remedies
Natural products can be extremely helpful when wanting to reduce stress. For example, drinking natural herbal tea can have a relaxing and calming effect on the mind and body.
4. Meditate
Meditation, mindfulness and relaxation exercises are scientifically proven to decrease and manage stress and promote mental well-being. If you haven’t tried this yet, there’s no better time to start.
5. Get Organised
If you find yourself having lots of things to do which can busy your mind and make you feel stressed and overwhelmed. Make a to-do list, prioritise what is most important. Be realistic about how much time it will take to complete the tasks and reward yourself for getting the job done!
